"Snowbirds Guarding the Gold"
RV Life & House-Sitting Adventures
*****
Is the tale of two very special pets who held our life together between the joys of RV life in Yuma, AZ, the horror of witnessing a murder in the Yakima River Canyon with the resulting trial, and the comedy of house-sitting for total strangers in the Yakima Valley. It was these humorous adventures that stimulated the writing of Al's first book, about situations so "far out" that names and locations had to be changed to protect the author.
"A Rib-Tickling Expose'...of sorts" The Yakima Herald 2002

"Mystery of the LMUMA Mine"
A Young-Adult Espionage Novella

Then, opportunity arrives to spend a week of vacation working and playing in a real hard-rock GOLD mine that is overlooking a highly classified military base. Their adventure begins when wind blows some $50 bills past the mine's outhouse. Circa 1947, someone is stealing atomic secrets for the Soviet Union. Real glimpses about real people and real places (Hawthorne, NV and Sacramento, CA). The rest is fiction with a surprise ending...

"E-Praise 4 Gifting"
Wonderful Stories of Faith & Praise from Cyberspace
*****
The modern electronic media creates a BABBLE of data. Today's Christian is bombarded with e-mail that can become a raucous CACOPHANY. Al tries to change it into a soothing SYMPHONY, by gathering and editing this second volume into a SONATA OF PRAISE unto the LORD JESUS. (This 305 page book was prepared as a ministry for seniors [who don't have computers]. All profits produce more free books for Nursing Homes, etc.)

"All-ways the Rebel"
A Scoundrel Escapes!
*** ***
Some serious and some funny letters written home about two wars and life in prison. The time line of the Great World War is accurate as it intertwines with a Yakima sailor who transports troops to France. Al has had fun fictionalizing much of his dad's "escape" to the 1917 Navy.
His WW2 letters and sonnets have been in storage, only recently surfacing. He wrote many letters in the backwoods hick style of Forrest Gump. There is a smattering of real history and life styles of people who lived in the early 20th Century, through the Great War and leading up to the terrible financial "crashes" of the late 20s.
People lived and loved then, much as they do today.

"Treasure in the Park" A mild-mannered senior volunteer working in a State Park, finds $100 dollar bills while raking leaves. His moral dilema about finding the owner evolves into a major mystery involving dead bodies, an 8 year old fugitive felon, and major terrorist threats to the adjoining city. This mystery novel is the first of a three book trilogy. "Terror In the Park" is also available while "Peace In the Park" is expected late 2010.

"Laughing Flowers & Blooming Animals"
An Illustrated Children's Book
*** *** ***
Children just learning to read love riddles and rhyme. Readers are led from a brightly colored animal sketch to a full color photo of a beautiful flower or native plant that contains the SAME ANIMAL'S NAME! This is truly "Fun with a purpose".
There are many common flower names that bear the names of animals, i.e., FOXglove, DandeLION, OWLs Clover, etc. (Taxonomy footnoted for parents and teachers.) Al has chosen one for most letters of the alphabet and has penned a nine-line triplet (poem) for each. Readership of this different approach to science would be about age 4 to 10.
